“Discipleship Designed by God”
Four Key Elements to the Early Phases of Christ Discipleship Model:
Phase 1: “Come and See”: John 1:39-39
1. Humility
- John 1:29-39
- Jesus submitted to John to be baptized
- John 1:2-11: Jesus submitted to His mother.
- Subtle supernatural solution
2. Authority
- John 2:13-22: Jesus stood up for God’s original design (for the temple)
- Mark 1:1-28: authority to teach and understanding of the supernatural
3. Love (agape)
- John 4: Love with no criterion, no standard
- John 8:1-12: Love with no condemnation
4. Purpose
- People are attracted to those whose lives are going somewhere.
- Luke 2:41-52: must be about my Father’s work (business)
- John 2: not in plan to reveal Himself
- John 13:1-2: His hour, His plan
In order to make a difference in someone’s life, I must:
- Learn humility
- Develop authority
- Love fully
- Live with a purpose
