Senior Pastor
Pastor Stan attended Southeastern Bible College in Birmingham, Alabama, where he met his wife Annette and graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Theology. He served in pastoral roles for several years in Birmingham before taking the position of senior pastor at Northside in 2000. A native of Mobile, Stan attended Northside as a child under the teachings of founding Pastor David Jones for many years.
He is married to Annette Hathaway Givens and together they have three children: Joshua, Caleb and Mary, all of who play active roles in Northside’s worship, children’s and media ministries. Pastor Stan is a board member of East European Harvest and an active supporting member of Team Jesus Ministries. In his downtime, he enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar and bowhunting.
Pastor Stan has additionally grown and enhanced Northside’s international missions ministry by planning, organizing and leading several trips overseas to minister in Transylvania, Romania and, most recently, the Dominican Republic. In Romania, Pastor Stan and his team led and taught English and Bible classes. While in the DR, the Northside mission team led outreach and humanitarian efforts by ministering to children in the local poor villages of Puerto Plata, engaging in building projects and assisting other missionaries already serving there. The team’s next trip to the Dominican Republic will be June 27-July 5, 2012.

Annette graduated from Southeastern Bible College in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She spent 14 years homeschooling her children and currently teaches first grade at Grigg’s Elementary School in Mobile. On Sunday mornings, Annette leads our women’s prayer small group. She additionally works with the Northside children’s ministry from time to time and plans, organizes and implements many activities for the Northside women’s ministry.

Northside is also blessed with a team of men who facilitate multiple aspects of our ministry venues, from teaching Sunday School classes and budgeting our finances to serving in the local community and meeting the needs of people inside and outside of the church: the Northside Shepherd’s Staff.
