At Northside, we have discovered that real life solutions are not found in Hollywood movies. Life’s problems are rarely solved in sixty minutes with ten commercial breaks. Life does not always end like a Hallmark special. Sometimes life is more than just confusing, it is downright painful. Northside is a diversified group of men, women, collegians, teens and children learning to live our lives in a way that honors God and exalts the cross of Christ. We are business owners, single moms, accountants, teachers, nurses, electricians, mechanics, warehouse supervisors and retirees all unified by the unending love and grace of God.
We are a unique church with a strong, loving family atmosphere and a deep commitment to learn about the grace of God. We strongly believe in God’s grace. That is, we believe that God’s unmerited favor towards us, through His Son Jesus Christ, is the most important truth that anyone can understand, accept and follow. We accept the historical and biblical truth that Jesus Christ lived a perfect life on earth and died on the cross for the redemption of mankind. We believe that God so loved the world, including and especially you, that He gave His only Son to die on the cross of Calvary, so that whoever believes in Him will not die, but live forever in Heaven with God.
We are an interdenominational, interracial church trusting in the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ’s death on the cross for our salvation from sin. We know that He is the only means of our salvation. We are sure that good works, good living, kind deeds, will not save us from our sin. Our passion is to exalt the cross of Christ in every area of our ministry, thereby leading others to a true and saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. We believe that God created us to enjoy this life and that He offers us an eternal one. His plan is for our good and His glory. At Northside, we want to learn how to live daily in the grace of God and to learn to share that grace-living with those around us.
We also recognize that there is evil in our world. We believe that evil and sin are powerful forces that can cripple families and damage relationships. We have seen and experienced it firsthand. We have hurt together, cried together and prayed together for the strength to make it through another day. We have learned that, when we offer our lives to Him, God will help us to overcome the evil and sin that plagues this world. We know that the abundant life God promises us will give us hope, joy and peace, regardless of the circumstances.
